The Studio

The Studio Model

What is a venture studio?

A venture studio is a company that builds its own companies. Unlike an accelerator that mentors external founders, or a VC fund that writes checks, a venture studio originates ideas internally, builds the products, and retains long-term ownership and operational responsibility.

Think of it as a workshop, not a fund. We are the builders, not the backers.

How Mithaq Ventures operates

We work in three modes, each with clear boundaries:

Studio-Built Ventures

This is our primary mode. Ideas originate inside the studio. We design the product, build the technology, own the direction, and operate the venture for the long term. The studio retains majority ownership and full product authority.

Current studio-built ventures: HalalVPN, Wasiyyah, Barakah Pantry.

Selective Co-Build Ventures

In rare cases, a partner brings domain expertise that we cannot replicate internally — deep regulatory knowledge, scholarly authority, or critical market access. In these cases, we co-build: the partner provides domain insight, and Mithaq Ventures leads product, engineering, and execution.

We only co-build when values alignment is complete and non-negotiable. We do not co-build for revenue or convenience.

Studio-Backed Prototyping

For ideas with high potential but unproven assumptions, we may invest limited resources in a rapid prototype to validate the concept. This is never a service offered externally. It is an internal process with a rigorous gate: prototypes advance to full ventures only when they demonstrate clear market need, technical feasibility, and values alignment.

Mithaq Ventures IS

  • A venture studio — we build, operate, and stay.
  • Product-first — we ship real technology, not pitch decks.
  • Principled by design — values are in our architecture, not our marketing.
  • Long-term oriented — we measure success in decades.

Mithaq Ventures IS NOT

  • An accelerator or incubator.
  • A VC fund.
  • A development agency.
  • A startup factory.
  • A community or media platform.
